Have you ever imagined being able to play games directly on your favorite streaming platform? Well, NetflixGame is about to make that a reality.

Now, the company is expanding its borders, testing a streaming gaming service that promises to revolutionize the way we interact with digital games.

Netflix has been offering games for mobile devices since 2021, but the news is that it now plans to bring these games to other devices.

Initially, the game streaming experience will be available to select subscribers in Canada and the United Kingdom.

Furthermore, the platform will allow users to access games via the cloud, without the need to install the games on the device.

The idea is that the games will be accessible on some models of Smart TVs, TV Boxes and the Netflix website.

For now, only two games will be available for streaming: “Oxenfree”, developed by the Night School studio (which was acquired by Netflix) and “Molehew's Mining Adventure”.

These games will also be available to be played conventionally, that is, installed on the smartphone.

With the cloud version, it will be possible to access the games on the TV and use your cell phone as a control.

Netflix recently launched a dedicated control app on iOS, which will be the main way to interact with cloud titles.

Furthermore, in the web version, it will also be possible to use a keyboard and mouse.

Compatible devices

Netflix released a list of devices initially compatible with the game streaming service:

  • Amazon Fire TV devices
  • Chromecast with Google TV
  • LG TVs
  • Samsung TVs
  • Roku Devices and TVs
  • Walmart Online
  • Nvidia Shield TV

The company plans to add other devices in the future. However, for now, testing games via streaming is exclusive to the United Kingdom and Canada.

How it will work in Brazil

In Brazil, Netflix has already launched its gaming service with free games for Android devices.

Among the available titles are “Stranger Things: 1984” and “Stranger Things 3: The Game”.

To access the games, simply look for the Netflix Games tab on smartphones or the Netflix Games category on tablets.

However, the service will soon also be available for iPhone (iOS).

In addition to titles based on “Stranger Things”, other games such as “Shooting Hoops”, “Card Blast” and “Teeter Up” are also available.

These games are free for subscribers, with no ads or in-game purchases.

However, children's profiles will not have access to the games, and a security PIN will be required to access the titles, if configured in the account.

Additionally, some of the games may require an online connection, but many of them will also work offline.

Conclusion

Ultimately, this expansion into game streaming indicates a new path for Netflix, seeking to diversify its catalog and offer a broader entertainment experience.

Therefore, even though it is not a game streaming service like Xbox Cloud Gaming, NetflixGame represents a significant step in the world of digital entertainment.

In summary, we can say that the NetflixGame is an innovative bet by the streaming giant, which could change the way we consume digital entertainment.

With the possibility of playing games via streaming on various devices, Netflix positions itself as a pioneer in this segment, opening new doors for game and technology lovers.

We now have to wait and see how this news will be received by the public and what the company's next steps will be in this fascinating world of games!
